Who we are
Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant becomes a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that the child of farm workers can become the president of a nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.

Welcome to the Bitou 10 Foundation, where our journey began with the inspiring Cadbury School Development Initiative (CSDI). Officially launched on March 13, 2006, as an Association under Section 21 of The Companies Act 1973, our vibrant foundation was inaugurated by the dynamic Naledi Pandor, the then Minister of Education, on November 1, 2007.
Since day one, we've been passionately dedicated to uplifting local state schools, understanding the heartbeat of our community—its learners, educators, and schools. Our powerful partnership with the Western Cape Education Department’s (WCED) Circuit 4 team keeps us energized as we work together to reach common goals.
As a lively and community-focused organization, the Bitou 10 Foundation thrives on fostering educational growth and support. We're not just addressing issues; we're revolutionising the quality of teaching, learning, and performance at every level.
Bitou's education sector is a vibrant reflection of the broader South African landscape, making our region the perfect incubator for ground breaking educational support strategies. Successful innovations here have the potential to spark positive change across communities throughout South Africa. Join us on this exciting journey to shape a brighter, more brilliant future for education!
